Harrison Ford Condition Latest News: Medics Expect Ford to Make Full Recovery After Crash
Harrison Ford is expected to make a full recovery after he suffered multiple gashes on his head following the crash-landing of his two-seater WW2 vintage plane on a golf course near the Santa Monica Airport where he took off last March 5.
The plane the 72-year-old actor was piloting stalled upon take-off due to engine failure leading to the crash. Harrison is now recovering in a hospital.
Known for several iconic roles such as "Indiana Jones," Ford will reprise his role as Han Solo in JJ Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which is set for release on Dec. 18, 2015. Along with him, co-stars Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will also return as Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker, respectively.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Fisher remarked about how she also recently was involved in an accident that saw the wheel come off her BMW while she was driving. It wasn't serious and she wasn't hurt, but if she had been driving on the freeway when the wheel came off, it would have been a very different story.
It was right after that accident that she saw the news about Ford's plane crash. Fisher said, "Things happen in threes. I'm about to call Mark Hamill [who plays Luke Skywalker in the films] to make sure he's OK. I have a horrid feeling there's a curse going on here."
Whether she was serious or not, what is hard to refute is that two of the three people reprising classic roles in the next Star Wars movie have just been involved in potentially life-threatening accidents. Coincidence may be, or may be Hamill just needs to be a bit more careful until the movie comes out.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" also stars Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis.
