ISIS Video News: Video Shows Boy Executing 'Israeli Spy' With Gunshot to the Head
Islamic State militants have released another execution video, this time purportedly showing a boy fatally shooting a 19-year-old man accused of spying for the Israel intelligence service Mossad.
The video, released on Tuesday, showed the boy wearing ISIS uniform shooting Muhammad Musallam, an Israeli Arab who the militant group accused of signing up as a jihadi to spy for Israel, Reuters reported.
Published by the ISIS' Furgan media outlet, the video showed Musallam sitting in a room wearing a jumpsuit where he narrated how he was recruited and trained, adding that his father and brother encouraged him.
Musallam claimed in the video that he joined the ISIS to report to Israel on weapons caches, bases and Palestinian recruits, a claim denied by Israel and Musallam's family.
"I tell my father and my son: Repent to God. I say to the spies who spy on Islamic State: You will not be successful, they will expose you," said Musallam in Arabic in the video.
He was then escorted in a field and shot in the head by the boy, described in the video as one of "cubs of the caliphate." After Musallam collapsed, the boy shot him three more times and chanted "Allahu Akbar!" (God is greatest).
Reuters could not immediately verify the authenticity of the footage, which also appeared on Twitter feeds used by Islamic State supporters.
Musallam went to Syria to join ISIS last October.
His father, Said Musallam, denied that he was a spy, explaining that his son went missing during a trip to Turkey.
Um Ahmad, the boy's mother, also denied that his son was a spy. "A spy of 19? How is that possible? Why would he have gone there if he were a spy?" she asked.
The father said the ISIS forced his son to say that he was a spy. "Mohammad was told by them to say about himself that he works for the Israelis," Said Musallam said. "They took him as a victim, only to show the world, so the world would be afraid of them."
