James Bond Spectre Filming Delay News: Daniel Craig Injured in Shoot
Daniel Craig, the lead star of the upcoming James Bond movie, has been injured while filming, throwing the production schedule into chaos.
Craig injured his knee while filming a fight scene for the upcoming 24th "James Bond" film "Spectre," causing the day's production to prematurely end and sending on-set extras home, Huffington Post reported on Friday.
Craig's injury cancelled the scheduled filming in Central London over the weekend to give the actor time to recover from his injury.
Production bosses are now concerned about changing the scheduled plans for filming. "Daniel's injury is a real concern," a source said. "Missed deadlines are a nightmare in the film world as it pushes everything back."
"Then not all the iconic locations can be re-booked easily or quickly. In two weeks, filming is due to switch to Rome and bosses fear Daniel's recovery may mean they have to plan around their main star. It's certainly not ideal," the source said.
The film has been originally planned to be released on Nov. 6 this year.
James Bond fans got an early treat earlier this week as sneak peaks of the movie were released.
A behind-the-scenes clip showed Craig, Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista and the director Sam Mendes working on an action scene.
One image showed Craig wearing dark glasses while on top of a snowy mountain, BBC News reported. The sequence was described by associate producer Gregg Wilson as "amazing," "spectacular," and a "jewel in the crown" of the film.
In December last year, Craig and his co-star Rory Kinnear, reprising his role as M16 colleague Bill Tanner, were seen traveling in a speedboat during the filming on the Thames.
The synopsis of "Spectre" reads: "A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind 'Spectre.'"
"Spectre" is Craig's fourth film as the British spy James Bond.
