Jep Robertson, one of the stars of the A&E reality show "Duck Dynasty," recently took to Twitter to detail a near-death experience he had while hunting earlier this month.

Robertson wrote on Twitter on Saturday that he almost died after suffering a seizure while hunting with his relatives on October 19.

"Well, I about died this past Sunday," he tweeted over the weekend. "I'm doing much better now. Thanks for all the prayers! #seizuresuck #gladtobealive."

Jep, the youngest son to Phil and Kay, has reportedly remained in the hospital for over a week to undergo a series of tests to determine what caused the reality show star's seizure. A statement released by the family suggests that perhaps Jep is suffering from an infection that could have triggered the medical incident.

"Jep was rushed to the hospital and received immediate treatment. He is doing well now, but is still in the hospital for additional tests and observation, and he is being treated with antibiotics to cover a range of possible infections believed to have caused the seizure," the family said in a statement.

"Our family would like to thank everyone for their love and support and ask that you keep Jep, Jessica and their children in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," the statement added.

Media outlets have reported that thankfully, Jep's brother Willie was by his side when he was rushed to a local Louisiana hospital. The two brothers star alongside the rest of their family on the reality show "Duck Dynasty," which follows their lives as avid hunters and dedicated evangelical Christians.
