Jessa Duggar, Ben Seewald Keep Kiss Private At Wedding Ceremony
Jessa Duggar, the most recent sibling of the "19 Kids and Counting" family to get married, reportedly did not share a kiss with her new husband at the wedding because they wanted their special moment to be completely private.
Duggar and new husband Ben Seewald married in Arkansas over the weekend, and their pastor Mike Schadt told People magazine that unlike Jessa's sister, Jill, she chose to not share a kiss with her groom at the altar.
"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Mike Schadt told People magazine. "It was important to the both of them."
According to People, instead of having Jessa and Ben kiss, Pastor Schadt had all other Duggar family members at the wedding share a kiss, then telling the crowd: "So, now you've seen a Duggar kiss."
As ET Online reports, although the newlywed couple did not share a kiss at their wedding ceremony, they did reportedly share one at the reception in front of guests after taking a moment to themselves following the ceremony.
In a similar way to the other Duggar children, Jessa and Ben practiced strict courtship rules before their nuptials, reportedly only giving each other side hugs and never kissing until their wedding day.
Earlier this year, Jessa's sister, Jill Duggar, shared a highly-publicized first kiss with her newlywed husband, Derrick Dillard, at their wedding, also held in Arkansas. Shortly after their wedding, Jill and Derrick announced that they were expecting their first child together, although they remain undecided if the child's birth will be featured on their family's TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting."
