Justin Bieber admits 'I don't always feel God's presence'
Singer Justin Bieber admits that distractions and lies keep him from feeling God's presence yet; nevertheless, he continues to seek God.
The 22-year-old pop sensation -- who's turned from being a child wonder to a misbehaving teenager and then an outspoken Christian -- updated followers on the latest in his spiritual journey.
"I don't always feel God's presence," shared Bieber on Instagram, the message captured on a snapshot of his mobile phone's Notes app dated July 1.
He went on to explain his experience, "I feel it may be human distractions or maybe I'm letting lies [deter] me from accessing it. Regardless it doesn't stop me from seeking."
Although he credits his mom, Pattie Mallette, for building the foundation of his Christian faith, the singer reportedly became Christian only in 2014. He then started publicly talking about God and his Christian faith in his interviews the following year. He's also taken to social media to express his newfound faith and was seen singing "Amazing God" with close friends Hillsong New York City Pastor Carl Lentz and Trinity Church Pastor Rich Wilkerson.
Since becoming an outspoken Christian, Bieber had enjoyed a break from controversies until a video footage that circulated online last month captured him beat up in a brawl with bigger guys. This happened after Bieber watched NBA Finals Game 3 in Cleveland.
"Although it is frustrating I'm reminded that relationships take work, even with God!" concluded Bieber.
Back in May, the Canadian-born singer posted a photo of himself during his "Purpose" tour and described himself as an "average, ordinary person" who doesn't deserve praises.
"I believe it belongs to my God!" he declared on social media. "Thank you, God for showing up when we need you the most!"
He also wrote, "I am so glad God is able to move even when people are blind to it. I am nothing without a light shining through."
