Ken Ham Argues Atheism is a Religion Being Taught in Public Schools

Young Earth Creationist Ken Ham recently took to social media to argue that although atheists deny they are part of an organized religion, atheism is in fact a belief system that is even being taught to American children in public schools.

Ham, the CEO and President of Answers in Genesis, recently took to Facebook to argue that atheism is in fact a religion.

"AiG points out that as a non-theistic religion, atheism is a belief system that attempts to explain everything in our world, including how the universe came to be and how one should relate to his fellow humans. As such, it's a naturalistic, comprehensive worldview (as opposed to a supernatural one) often referred to as secular humanism," Ham wrote in a recent Facebook posting.

"Generations of our young people, including many in our churches, have been educated in government-run schools in the religious view of naturalism, which in reality is atheism," Ham added.

In October, Ham blasted well-known atheist Richard Dawkins for criticizing the religious beliefs of some of the 2016 GOP presidential candidates.

Ham wrote on the Answers in Genesis blog in October that Christians must pray for Dawkins, suggesting his atheism has "hardened" his heart, adding "We need to pray for him. His heart is hard and he is blind."

Dawkins had also suggested at the time that those who believe in religion should be categorized as being "mentally ill."

"It's hard to use the word 'mentally ill' when there are so many of them," Dawkins told Fox News in an October interview. "If they believed what they did and they were the only one they would undoubtedly be called mentally ill."
