Christian Olympic athlete Lolo Jones has announced her decision to quit her track-and-field season early, saying via social media that she was "emotionally drained" following last winter's Olympics, where she raced bobsled for the U.S. team.

Jones, who often points to her Christian faith as her motivation, said in a Facebook post that she will not be completing her last three hurdle races in Europe, instead saying she will end her season early and start training fully for track-and-field in November. She also said that she looks forward to competing in the 2015 Track and Field World Championships in Beijing.

"After competing in the Winter Olympics the hardest things was for me to regain motivation. I was emotionally drained after competing in Bobsled for Team USA. Once again I went to achieve an ultimate goal to be an Olympic medalist and once again I fell short," Jones wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday.

"I was able to re-group for Track season and go on the win a Bronze Medal at The USA Track & Field Championships. But the last two years I have competed nonstop. I have taken no breaks more than two days, so that I can participate in two sports."

Fox Sports suggests that Jones' comment on resuming track-and-field training in November perhaps means that she plans to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympic Summer games.

The Olympic athlete has not been shy about professing her Christian faith during her athletic career, saying in 2012 that the 32-year-old has chosen to remain a virgin to keep in line with her Christian faith.
