Naghmeh Abedini still hopes for reconciliation despite filing for legal separation from her husband Saeed.

Naghmeh revealed late last year that she was a victim of abuse and that her husband was addicted to pornography. Nevertheless, she hopes that God will heal their marriage and unite their family once again.

While she is thankful to the public for supporting their family while Saeed was in Iran, Naghmeh deeply regretted that she did not disclose to the public the abuse that she have lived for most of their marriage. She then asked for forgiveness in a Facebook post.

Saeed, an Iranian-American who was first imprisoned in 2013, had a wonderful reunion with his two children Rebekka, aged 9 and Jacob 7. But upon arriving in Idaho, Naghmeh told the public that Saeed threatened to end their marriage.

However, she remains positive and is still hopeful that the situation Saeed has had to go through would bring about spiritual change and healing to their marriage, as reported by Daily Mail.

Naghmeh said that she wanted nothing more than to "run to Saeed and just welcome him home."

"It is something I dreamed about the last 3.5 years. But unfortunately things did not work out that way and our family has to work through reconciliation. I want our reconciliation to be strictly based on God's Word. I want us to go through counseling, which must first deal with the abuse," she said.

Meanwhile, Saeed has not yet made any public comments about the family's situation and how the two couples are holding on.

Yahoo News reported that the Obama administration agreed to free seven Iranian prisoners as part of a prisoner swap. 35 year old, Saeed Abedini, was one of the four Americans released after being sentenced to eight years in prison.
