Franklin Graham criticizes double standards over outrage at gorilla Harambe's killing while 125,000 babies are aborted daily

Prominent pro-lifer Rev. Franklin Graham highlights the double standards shown by the national outrage over the death of Harambe, the silverback gorilla, while about 125,000 babies were aborted on that same day and yet no one cares.

Graham took to Facebook on Wednesday, June 1 to share his opinion on last weekend's incident, wherein a 17-year-old 400 pound gorilla named Harambe was shot dead by zoo officials after it dragged for about 10 minutes the four-year-old boy who accidentally fell into the moat. The gorilla's death sparked national outrage on social media as well as petitions and candlelight vigils.

The Evangelical leader also shared an article by The Blaze whose writer expressed the same sentiments as Graham's.

"Someone commented on the page that 'Shooting an endangered animal is worse than murder. People are grieving and leaving flowers at a gorilla statue,"' Graham wrote.

He was referring to the "Justice for Harambe" Facebook memorial page and the gorilla statue outside the Gorilla World exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.

"Excuse me? Human life should be more highly valued, and a decision had to be made to protect a child's life," continued Graham, who also thanked the zoo officials for making the right decision while wishing that the Supreme Court and politicians would realize the human life's value.

Graham also pointed out one of the article's highlights which revealed that about 125,000 abortions are happening around the world every day.

"Where's the justice for these lives? God created men and women in His image, and He made humans to rule over the animals," said Graham.

The article juxtaposed the gorilla's "quick" and "humane" killing to a morbid procedure of abortion known as Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) where the baby is torn apart limb by limb.

The article's author also believes that majority of Americans "feel a greater dread for the gorilla's fate than the boy's" while those who feel outrage over the "brutal violence" of abortion are shared by only "very specific group of people" known as "pro-lifers."
