Sarah Palin 'Proud' Of Family, Faith After Brawl

Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has spoken out on allegations that she and her family were involved in a recent brawl at a house party, saying she's "proud" of her daughter for defending her family during the brawl.

Reports from eyewitnesses and a local news blogger claimed that on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 6, the Palin family reportedly engaged in a brawl with the ex-boyfriend of daughter Willow Palin while the brood attended an Iron Dog snowmobile race after party in Anchorage. The brawl reportedly involved Bristol Palin repeatedly punching a man in the face and other relatives, including Track Palin, also becoming physically involved. Police reported that a total of 20 people were involved in the fight. 

Multiple eyewitness accounts indicated former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin yelled at the fighters "do you know who I am?"

The former governor of Alaska took to Facebook this week to acknowledge the brawl and defend her family, writing: "I love Bristol."

"My straight-shooter is one of the strongest young women you'll ever meet […] I have to say this as a proud mama: right up there with their work ethic and heart for those less fortunate, my kids' defense of family makes my heart soar."

Palin went on to blame the media for portraying her family in a poor light in regard to the events surrounding the house party on Sept. 6. "As you can imagine, they and my extended family have experienced so many things (liberal media-driven) that may have crushed others without a strong foundation of faith, and I'm thankful for our friends' prayer shield that surrounds them, allowing faith to remain their anchor."
