Ted Cruz gains support from Christian communities
Ted Cruz is gaining support from Christian communities in his bid for the White House. Christian leaders including Dick and Rich Bott, who operate the country's largest network of Christian radio stations are among the notable figures who have endorsed the Texas Senator.
On Thursday, Cruz announced that he has secured endorsement from Dick Bott and his son Rich. The elder Bott, founder and chairman of Bott Radio Network, who was included in the National Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame back in 2008, praised the Texas Senator citing that Ted Cruz has a genuine 'Christian character.'
As quoted by Charisma News, Dick Bott said that "Not since Ronald Reagan has this country seen someone with the ability and the wisdom that Ted Cruz has. Our listeners are eager to select the next President of the United States—a man of principle, of Christian character, and a proven leader with a record of conservative accomplishment."
Meanwhile, Rich described Cruz as the answer to Americans' petitions for a next worthy president.
The CEO of Bott Radio said that Ted Cruz is unwavering in his principles, bold to stand up for what is right, and unafraid to be politically incorrect. The Bott family also said that Ted Cruz is in their prayers and believes that he will make an outstanding president.
Christian entrepreneurs like David and Jason Benham, who have become prominent figures in the fight for religious liberty in the US, also announced their support of Cruz. The Benham family described him as the "convictional" leader the Americans "desperately need" today.
The Benhams also said that Cruz has the humility to understand the truth and that the US needs a president that acts from the inside out, one who relies on principles not polls, and is rooted in the Constitution, not cultural trends.
Meanwhile, President Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council said that Cruz should become the next US president because of his 'constitutional' conservatism.
