'The Flash' season 3 release date and news: New season gets an extended look

The preview is titled "Time Strikes Back" and it features Barry talking to his father about the current timeline that he landed in. He also runs into a very rich Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). It's interesting to note that in the alternate timeline, STAR Labs has become Ramon Industries, making Cisco some kind of of Tony Stark aka Iron Man from Marvel.

Interestingly enough, the clip also has Barry talking to the Reverse-Flash aka Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh). He tells Barry about the consequences of creating the alternate timeline.

This upcoming season is proving to be a challenging one for the fastest man alive. Aside from the Flashpoint paradox, Barry will be dealing with a whole bunch of new villains, one of them being the classic Flash villain, Mirror Master.

The CW's version of Mirror Master aka Sam Scudder will be played by Grey Damon. TVLine reports that this time around, Scudder will not be using his signature weapon, the mirror gun. Instead, he will be a meta-human who has the power to manipulate any reflective surface.

Reports also say that the Mirror Master will have a sidekick named The Top (Ashley Rickards). She has the power to manipulate centrifugal force. It's said that the two will be going against Leonard Snart aka Captan Cold (Wentworth Miller), who has a significant connection to the Mirror Master.

The third season of "The Flash" premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. EDT.
