'The Originals' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Davina to return; Marcel not a villain

Fans who wish to know what happens next in "The Originals" will have to wait a little longer as the supernatural drama series will be on hiatus and won't be back until next year. But that doesn't mean that fans are all left out in the dark. As usual, spoilers for the upcoming season have sprouted up since the season 3 finale.

According to reports, "The Originals" season 4 may bring back actress Danielle Campbell to reprise her role as Davina. Fans may recall that in the previous season, two shocking major deaths happened. First was Cami's (Leah Pipes) and then Davina's. But while Cami is permanently dead, Davina is said to gain back her breath again.

If she does make a comeback, her reappearance is sure to affect the storyline of Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Marcel was very devastated by Davina's death. And though he tried to bring her back, he failed and went to seek revenge for her by going after Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelson siblings.

Freya (Riley Voelkel) was able to convince Marcel though that she has tethered their lives to Klaus,' which means whatever happens to Klaus will also affect her life as well as Elijah's (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah's (Claire Holt) and Kol's (Nathaniel Buzolic).

For a moment, Marcel's plans of revenge were put on hold. But as seen in the season 3 finale, Marcel found out that the Mikaelson siblings are still alive even after Klaus' deep sleep fall.

This led to the speculation that Marcel could end up being a villain. Yet, in an interview by TV Guide with executive producer Michael Narducci, he said that he does not see Marcel being a villain. He may have become more powerful and stronger but he is still the same guy, just with a different perspective this time.

"The Originals" season 4 will return to The CW in early 2017.
