'The Walking Dead' season 7 news, spoilers: Cast filmed multiple deaths to keep identity of Negan's victim a secret

The season 6 finale of AMC's "The Walking Dead" ended on such a massive cliffhanger that AMC is now doing whatever it takes to avoid spoiling the premiere episode of season 7.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources claim that the cast and crew of "The Walking Dead" filmed 11 different death scenes to keep the identity of Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) victim in the season 6 finale under wraps.
As THR explained, the multiple death scenes will hopefully throw fans off the scent of the so-called Lucille Victim. When filming for the premiere episode is done, the "TWD" team will then get together in the editing room to make a final decision on who gets killed by Negan and his barbed-wire-covered baseball bat.
The extra measure comes as avid fans of the zombie apocalypse series have taken to scouting the remote Atlanta locations of the "TWD" shoot, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite actors and/or looking for clues as to what happens next in the series. According to the "TWD" crew, some of these fans have even used drones to capture images of the shoot.
In an interview with THR, "The Walking Dead" executive producer Scott M. Gimple spoke about the widespread use of drones and the hassles the devices have caused.
"With the advent of drones, it can become such a game of cat and mouse that as far as sneaking a peek at the actors walking to set, we want to just keep our actors safe and the people who might be looking safe — like [when they're] in the street," he told the outlet last summer.
"The Walking Dead" actress Sonequa Martin-Green pointed out that she and her co-stars often have to be covered in hoods when they move around the show's filming locations to prevent from spilling the series' various secrets, such as who is still alive and who is not.
"Sometimes you can tell a specific story point based on what someone's wearing or what their makeup looks like — so in that case, we do what we can to cover in order to protect the story," she said.
Earlier this month, AMC threatened The Spoiling Dead Fans, an online community of "TWD" and "FTWD" fans with a costly lawsuit for publishing spoilers from the two popular shows.
According to the cease and desist order sent by AMC Holdings to the group, they are prohibited from making any predictions about the Lucille Victim, as doing so would constitute copyright infringement.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 debuts in October.
