Tim Tebow Encourages Christians to Follow Their Values, Find Their Identity in Christ

NFL quarterback Tim Tebow recently discussed the importance of Christians standing up for their values at an event in Tennessee, urging Christians follow their beliefs and live life by God.

Tebow, who is the current quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, made his recent comments at Middle Tennessee State University over the weekend at the God's Purpose for America conference.

"What's amazing when you get up and do something is what God does in your life," Tebow reportedly told the crowd of 2,000 who gathered to hear him speak. "We just have to get up and do something."

"When your identity is found in Christ, your identity never changes. You are always a child of God," the Eagles player continued, adding that his faith in God is "why I always say I don't have to live the roller coaster that the rest of the world lives."

Throughout his NFL career, Tebow has remained outspoken about his religious beliefs. The star Christian athlete said in 2013 that he plans to use his athletic talent in the way God has planned for him.

"It doesn't make you special just because you can play baseball, football, basketball—those are just gifts from God," Tebow said in a 2013 interview with the Memphis Flyer.

"We're all blessed with different gifts but that doesn't make us more special or better. God gave us a gift and it's about how we use it for his honor and his glory," the 27-year-old athlete added.
