Tim Tebow, Matt Barkley Vie For Quarterback Position with Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is approaching his decision as to whether to select Tebow or Matt Barkley for the third string quarterback position on the NFL team.
Tebow and Barkley are in the final days of their chance to become the Eagles' third string quarterback, as the coach will cut the roster from 75 to 53 by this Saturday.
Both Tebow and Barkley have said they are not concerned about Kelly's upcoming decision and have just tried to enjoy their opportunity to perform for an NFL team.
"That's not something I worry about to be honest. I worry about what I can control and that's come out and improve every day, enjoy the process, count your blessings and work extremely hard," Tebow told NJ.com this week following a practice. "You know something I always try to practice is be anxious for nothing, but let your request be known to God. That's how I try to handle that.''
"I feel like I'm improving with the offense, with the tempo, with the footwork, with the timing,'' he said. "I just want to continue with that process. I think I'm getting better at (pocket presence), just throwing a few away, not taking sacks. Always knowing that there's the next down.''
Barkley added to USA Today that he doesn't feel pressure regarding the decision. "I don't think it's anything except an exciting opportunity. I've been in this place before to have to impress and move the ball down the field," Barkley said.
