Tim Tebow's 'faith-based, crazy' fans destroyed his NFL career, claims Fox Sports 1 host
Former NFL player Tim Tebow's "faith-based, crazy fans" are to blame for his lackluster NFL career at present, Fox Sports 1 host Colin Cowherd claimed recently.
During this week's edition of "The Herd," host Colin Cowherd said Tim Tebow's career is hurting right now because of his "faith-based, crazy fans." While he praised the former NFL quarterback for his sports ability, he said no team would want to take Tebow right now because of his fans.
Cowherd also said Tebow is good enough to be included in all NFL rosters. He then explained why the Denver Broncos had to replace him with Peyton Manning. The host said Tebowmania simply got out of hand.
"I think with Tebow, his fans ended up hurting him ... more than Tebow. Nobody wants Tebow because his faith-based, crazy fans that take over the stadium," said Cowherd. "That's why Denver had to go out and get Peyton Manning, because Tebowmania took over Denver. Tim's a good enough athlete to be on every roster in this league, absolutely."
Based on his statement, the host thinks Tebowmania grew bigger than football itself and the craze somehow evolved into a movement, much like Donald Trump. Thus, Cowherd said Manning owes a little of his time in Denver to Tebow.
However, Sports World News disagreed with Cowherd's assessment and said the former NFL quarterback's fans were not to blame for Tebow's difficulties in claiming a regular NFL roster spot. The publication instead claims Tebow's career went downwards from the point when Denver traded him to the New York Jets for Manning.
After his short stint with the Jets, Tebow had some time with both the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagle, but was unable to have any major participation in their regular seasons.
The publication also called blaming Tebow's fans for his absence in the NFL an an "outrageous" claim.
