Trump Says He Doesn't See Carson As a 'Great Religious Figure'

2016 presidential hopefuls Donald Trump and Ben Carson continue their back-and-forth arguments regarding each other's faith as Trump recently stated that he does not believe Carson is a "great religious figure."

Trump made his recent comments in an interview with CNN's "New Day," saying that he doesn't see Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, as a great religious figure in the 2016 election.

"I never heard faith was a big thing [...] until [Carson] started running, I don't know about Ben Carson's faith, all of a sudden he becomes this great religious figure, I don't think he's a great religious figure," Trump told the media outlet. "You look at his faith and I think you're not going to find so much [...] who is he to question my faith when I am, he doesn't even know me."

Recently, Trump targeted Carson, saying the retired neurosurgeon would not make a good president because he couldn't generate jobs in the way Trump, a real estate mogul, could.

The comments led Carson to argue that he could generate jobs as president, and for Carson to reference his favorite Bible verse, an act that Trump was unable to do in an earlier interview.

"Probably the biggest thing -- I've realized where my success has come from and I don't in anyway deny my faith in God," Carson said at a recent rally in Orange County, California.

"By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life and that's a very big part of who I am. I don't get that impression with him," Carson added in reference to Trump. "Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get that."
