'Vikings' season 5 spoilers, cast news 2016: WWE superstar joins cast

Former WWE superstar Edge will be back on the small screen, but not as a wrestler brawling it out in the ring. The 41-year-old star has snagged a recurring role in "Vikings" season 5.
Edge, whose real name is Adam Copeland, will join the hit History Channel series as Ketill Flatnose, a "brave and fierce warrior," as per the description picked up by Deadline, whose brilliance catches the attention of Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard).
In "Vikings" season 5, it will be Floki who chooses Ketill Flatnose as one of the leaders of a group of Vikings who will be going to set up a community in Iceland.
Copeland has appeared in various television shows prior to snagging his role as "Vikings" season 5. He played the role of metahuman Atom Smasher in "The Flash" and joined "Haven" in SyFy in a recurring role as Dwight Hendrickson.
Edge will be the second actor tapped for "Vikings" season 5. The other is actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, whose role is being kept under wraps.
However, it is believed his addition will help fill the void to be left by Clive Standen, who plays Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) brother Rollo in the series.
Standen will leave the series and will star in "Taken" as main character Bryan Mills. His character won't be killed off, which means that he might pop up the series as a guest star.
The inclusion of Meyers in "Vikings" season 5 was announced at the same time History renewed the series for a new season earlier this year.
"Vikings" is currently on hiatus and will be back for the second half of season 4 this fall. The current season has 20 episodes, double the number in previous seasons.
When the new season returns, Old Man Ragnar will be training his successor while Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will be back with a vengeance and a new look.
