Kia Motors will be introducing the all-new Picanto in early 2017. The South Korean automobile manufacturer recently released design sketches of the third-generation city car which preview its exterior and interior design.

According to the press release, the new Picanto features a youthful and energetic design language that is evident in both the best-selling car's exteriors and interiors. It retains its predecessor's dimensions but comes with a more assertive stance highlighted by bold body lines and vibrant color choices. Despite the changes, the five-door city car still features Kia's signature Tiger Nose grille. Prospective customers can also personalize their city car according to their needs and preferences.

The 2017 Kia Picanto's sleek and modern interiors will also come with a suite of high-tech comfort, convenience and safety features. The cabin's design is also more efficient compared to previous models. According to the design sketch, a digital display will be located on the dashboard and buttons on the center console have been reduced. It also appears that the Picanto's seats can be upholstered in leather.

According to AutoExpress, just like the Hyundai i10, the all-new Picanto will be powered by either a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that delivers 66 horsepower or a 1.25-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 87 horsepower. The engine can be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox but customers can choose one with automatic transmission as well.

With only a few months to go before the official unveiling of the 2017 Picanto, the new city car has already been spotted on the streets of South Korea for testing. Spy shots reveal that the Picanto also has a redesigned front fascia with more aggressive headlamps. The third-generation vehicle's profile seems to be unchanged apart from a higher beltline and modified wheel arches. These design elements give the impression that the 2017 Picanto is much larger and taller despite having retained its dimensions.

The 2017 Kia Picanto will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. It will then be available for purchase in dealerships later in the year.
