'7th Heaven' reunion news: '7th Heaven' mom open to reunion, but only if Reverend Camden is killed off
Catherine Hicks is willing to reunite with her "7th Heaven" family, but only if the event does not include her TV husband, who was played by actor Stephen Collins.
Hicks played Annie Camden, the better half of Collins' Reverend Eric Camden throughout the entire 11-season run of the WB/The CW family drama "7th Heaven." The show ran from 1996 to 2006 and also starred Jessica Biel (Mary Camden), Beverley Mitchell (Lucy Camden), Barry Watson (Matt Camden), and David Gallagher (Simon Camden).
The long-defunct series has a strong fan base among those who are currently in their 20s and 30s and who grew up watching the family-friendly show. As such, there has been constant speculation about a possible "7th Heaven" reunion event over the last few years.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Hicks confirmed that she is open to reuniting with her "7th Heaven" castmates, but with one caveat: the revival will not include Collins.
"We'd have to open with Stephen's coffin," she said. "It's all up to [the] networks and those types of things. I think we'd all love to be together... 'Eighth Heaven' with a new boyfriend for Annie."
In December 2014, Collins admitted to molesting three underage girls between the 1970s and the 1990s. The actor made the admission in an interview with Katie Couric, forced to do so after TMZ published an audio recording of him talking about the incidents during a therapy session with his ex-wife Faye Grant.
During the interview with Couric, Collins recalled an encounter with a young girl in 1973 that he described as "unthinkably wrong."
"I took her hand and moved it in such a way that she was touching me inappropriately," he said.
Even though he admitted to having molested the girls all those years ago, he maintained that he is not a pedophile.
"A pedophile is someone who is mainly or wholly attracted to children," he said. "I'm not. I had a distortion in my thinking where I acted out in those ways. But I'm absolutely not attracted, physically or sexually attracted to children. I'm just not."
