'A Series of Unfortunate Events' trailer, news: Netflix launches new trailer for upcoming TV adaptation
Netflix recently launched the full length trailer for the upcoming TV adaptation of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events." The series will officially go live on Jan. 13, 2017.
The latest trailer is over two minutes long. It gives viewers a glimpse of the long and frustrating journey Baudelaire orphans Sunny, Klaus, and Violet have to endure. Furthermore, the clip shows a few of the many disguises Count Olaf will put on in an attempt to gain custody of the Baudelaire children and steal their fortune.
Violet, the eldest of the Baudelaires, is 14 years old at the beginning of the series. She is impeccably brilliant for her age. She is an inventor and when she is about to build a contraption, she ties her hair up with a ribbon. This young inventor's creations will help her and her siblings escape the clutches of Count Olaf and his goons. She will be portrayed by Malina Weissman.
Klaus is the middle child. He loves reading books, and he manages to retain all the information that he reads. His eidetic memory allows him and his sisters to escape life-threatening circumstances. Klaus will be portrayed by Louis Hynes.
Sunny, the youngest of the Baudelaire orphans, is still an infant when their parents die at the very beginning of their unfortunate tale. Though she is young, she is just as important to the story. Her incredibly strong and sharp teeth manage to get them out of pretty dire conditions. The youngest character will be portrayed by Presley Smith.
The infamous Count Olaf will be portrayed by "How I Met Your Mother" actor Neil Patrick Harris. As previously reported, Netflix released a trailer that introduced the actor as the notorious villain.
Fans of the 13-novel series "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" can watch the TV adaptation on Netflix when it premieres on Jan. 13.
