Acer has introduced the TravelMate Spin B1, a two-in-one notebook that is designed for use in the education setting.

The TravelMate Spin B1 is equipped with an 11.6-inch display with Full HD screen or an HD touchscreen and is powered by Intel Pentium processors and Intel HD Graphics. It features a 360-degree hinge that allows the laptop to function in four different ways. Aside from the traditional notebook design, the TravelMate Spin B1 can transform into stand mode or tent mode to facilitate group discussions and class presentations. On the other hand, it can also be converted into a tablet for learning on the go.

Acer's new convertible notebook was also designed to withstand the hustle and bustle of the sometimes chaotic classroom environment, making it perfect for everyday use. The TravelMate Spin B1 has a robust and durable design. The pressure-resistant screen can withstand frontal impact of up to 60 kilograms and the spill-resistant chiclet keyboard can endure up to 330 ml of water spills. The laptop has a gutter system under the keyboard and touchpad that allows the liquid to be drained without harming the internal components. Furthermore, there is a shock-absorbent rubber bumper and a Kensington lock for added security.

The notebook can be used with a stylus for taking down notes, sketching and editing documents. It also has support for Windows Ink. The notebook also comes with an easy-to-use and responsive Precision Touchpad that supports Windows 10 gestures

The Acer TravelMate Spin B1 comes preinstalled with the Windows 10 Pro operating system. It also has Acer's TeachSmart software wherein the notebook cover is embedded with multicolored LED lights that enable the student to communicate with the teacher in a much more efficient manner, whether it's to relay quiz scores or to request for a bathroom break.

The convertible notebook provides 13 hours of battery life so it is able to last an entire school day without any interruptions.

In terms of connectivity, there Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, an SD card reader and the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The Acer TravelMate Spin B1 will be available to purchase in the second quarter of 2017 with a starting price of $299.
