Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Release Date, Plot Spoliers: New Trailer Shows Phil Coulson Operating in The Shadows
The first trailer for Agents of SHIELD Season 2 is already out and shows some of the highlights of what fans can expect in the hit series' new season.
The ABC show features the mysterious government entity called S.H.I.E.L.D. The characters and story of the show is also within the official Marvel Universe, which includes popular superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the popular bunch right now, called The Guardians of The Galaxy.
The show's second season will start out where Season 1 left off, with the agency infiltrated by the Hydra and the group falling apart. There is no more S.H.I.E.L.D to speak of.
The public lost trust of the organization, but they are trying to pick up the pieces slowly. However, the agency should be acting with a lower profile this time around. Phil Coulson will have to rebuild the agency, but with fewer people.
Triplett is going to be a part of the new S.H.I.E.L.D agency team as shown in the short trailer, but there's still the air of uncertainty on this one, knowing Marvel and their craft.
A lot of fans would love to see him work with the likes of Skye or May. Another part of the trailer shows a scene with Skye looking agitated in front of Ward for some reason. This could probably hint that in some part of the season, there will be focus on the relationship between the two.
The promotional video gives out a strong hint that Agents of SHIELD will explore the darker territory, with the emphasis of them being under the radar.
"We disappear, become ghosts," Coulson says. "That's how we have to live now: in the shadows, to protect the innocent."
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 2 will return to ABC this coming September 23 at 9 p.m. EDT
