"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 2 is officially on hiatus and will return on ABC In March next year.

For those who haven't watched the winter finale, here's a recap of what happened and some spoilers of rumored developments when the show returns.

During the last episode titled "What They Become," May (Ming-Na Wen) avoided Hydra's attempt to shoot down the bus as Ward brought Skye (Chloe Bennet) to her father. Ward revealed that Whitehall (Reed Diamond) was the one who murdered her mother and that her name was actually Daisy and her father's name was Cal.

Whitehall suddenly arrived at the Hydra base in San Juan. He immobilized Cal and threatened Skye. Coulson's team arrived at the base in the nick of time. Coulson (Clarke Gregg) killed Whitehall, which angered Cal as he lost his opportunity to exact vengeance by himself. As a result, Cal tried to kill Coulson. Skye, on the other hand, also tried to kill Ward and asked Cal to leave. After that, she followed Raina into the temple.

Meanwhile, Agent 33 assisted Ward while trying to escape from Syke. Triplett and Coulson helped Skye, although Coulson lagged behind because of Mack. Raina and Skye got enclosed in cocoons and Triplett was killed by "the Diviner."

When Skye got out of her cocoon, the whole city shook because of her new earthquake abilities.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jed Whedon said, "Needless to say, it's going to be a very complex, emotional journey for her. We have the ability on a television show to really explore the emotional journey of that. What does that mean now that she has this ability? Does she even want it? Will the people around her understand it? And how that, in turn, affects her relationship with the whole team."
