Alcatel Idol 4S US release date news 2016: Smartphone bundled with VR device expected to arrive before yearend
The Alcatel Idol 4S was originally announced in February at the Mobile World Congress. Many fans were waiting for the device to hit the U.S. market. Now that Alcatel has finally confirmed its arrival, consumers could not wait to get their hands on the highly anticipated device. According to reports, fans can start to preorder the smartphone on July 15 and it will be bundled with a VR headsite.
The preorder will last until Aug. 3. People who decide to do the preorder will only have to pay $349, and for the consumers who will miss the promotion, they will not have the opportunity to enjoy the discount and will have to pay the whole price of $399.
According to reports, the U.S. version of the Alcatel Idol 4S will feature a fingerprint sensor.
Although the company has yet to provide new concrete details with regard to the upgrades of the latest version, the specs and features were already revealed during the MWC 2016. The Alcatel Idol 4S will carry a 5.5-inch screen with a Quad HD AMOLED display and resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixel. The specs under the hood will be headed by the Snapdragon 652 processor from Qualcomm, which is paired with 3 GB of RAM.
Other features of the device include a 3,000 mAh battery and a 32 GB onboard storage capacity, which will be expandable via microSD. The device will also carry a 16-mexapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. On the other hand, the front-facing snapper is at 8 megapixels, which also has a flash.
The company claims that users will be able to capture 2K videos at 30fps, 1080p video at 60 fps, and 120fps when shooting 720p videos.
Tech observers believe that the device is rather cheap, considering it is being bundled with a VR system.
