The sequel to "Prometheus" and prequel to Ridley Scott's "Alien" in 1979 will be soon be launched in May, and it features a new type of alien that will terrorize the humans on board the colony ship. Meanwhile, Daniels — portrayed by Katherine Waterston — has a resemblance to Sigourney Weaver's Ripley.

Also directed by Scott, "Alien Covenant" is the sequel to "Prometheus" that follows a colony ship in search for Michael Fassbender's David and Noomi Rapace's Dr. Elizabeth Shaw who disappeared from the previous expedition.

The synopsis posted on Den of Geek reads, "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the 'synthetic' David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

During the 2016 Fox Showcase last December, Waterston revealed that Covenant will have aboard couples who will serve as colonists in a new world. Aside from this, the actress also shared that a new alien will be featured in the upcoming film.

The new monster is known as a "neomorph," which is a four-legged being that is about the size of a medium dog, born by jumping out of the spine of its human host. The birth of a neomorph can also be seen on the "Alien: Covenant" trailer.

Meanwhile, Waterston's character has been described to have a resemblance to Weaver's Ripley from the original "Alien" film during the scene where she comes across dog tags in a dark abandoned place.

In an interview with Blastr, Waterston shared how she views her character in "Alien: Covenant."

"She's like a space gardener – capable, very bright, but just a member of the crew. ... I don't think she thinks of herself as particularly extraordinary or courageous at the beginning of the film but she's tested, and it turns out she definitely does have quite a lot of courage," Waterston explained.

"Alien: Covenant" premieres in theaters on May 19.
