Alienware laptops are always said to be one of the most desired devices when it comes to playing games. Dell has just released the Alienware 13 R3, which is considered to be the smallest virtual reality-ready laptop in the market right now.

According to PC World, the Alienware 13 is said to come with an i7-6700 HQ 2.6 GHz processor which can be boosted up to 3.5 GHz. It has 8 to 32 GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics card.

The Alienware 13 also comes with multiple ports; there are two type A USB 3.0 ports and one Type-C port. It also comes with a gigabit Ethernet port and a Mini DisplayPort 1.2. There is also an HDMI 2.0 port as well as a single Thunderbolt 3 port.

Though the laptop is powerful enough to run VR (virtual reality) and all the latest games that have been coming out, other reviews said that the lack of ports leads to the hassle of trying to hook up controllers or a VR headset. The physical redesign is also not that impressive and the OLED used for the device is said to be quite pricey.

Aside from that, the Alienware 13 looks to be a solid gaming laptop, and it can play games at 4K resolution with a battery life of about 4 hours. Games like the 2013 "Tomb Raider" and "Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor" have been tried on it, and it was able to play scenes at 1080 p without breaking the frame rate.

At 13 inches, the device is coming out to be a small but powerful laptop courtesy of the developers at Dell. The Alienware 13 R3 has a price tag that starts at $1,199, but it may just as well go up to $2,099 depending on whether the user decides to add more features and upgrades.

The Alienware 13 R3 gaming laptop is now available for purchase.
