'American Horror Story' Season 4 Freak Show Spoilers: Magic Act Climax Goes Horribly Wrong
In the latest episode of "American Horror Story: Freak Show," the freaks got revenge on many of their foes. But it was a magic act that went horribly wrong and resulted in Maggie (Emma Roberts) being sawed in half that turned out to be the showstopper.
The main theme was revenge, and it started when the freaks confronted Stanley (Denis O'Hare) about how he helped murder some in the show. They then presented him with the head of the museum of freaks who Desiree (Angela Bassett) had murdered in revenge. Then they put Stanley on the wheel and Elsa (Jessica Lange) threw knives at him. After he was struck with one, he started to run, but the freaks caught up with him. He then revealed it was Elsa who had killed Ethel (Kathy Bates). However, this did not save Stanley and his arms and legs which the freaks chopped off.
Meanwhile, Dandy (Finn Wittrock) revealed to Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson) that Chester (Neil Patrick Harris) murdered his wife. As a result, they became suspicious of him. When he then asked them to be sawn in half in his magic show, they refused. Maggie, who was rejected by Jimmy (Evan Peters), decided to step in and be Chester's assistant. He imagined that she was his wife and her lover and proceeded to cut her in half. Then he blamed his dummy Marjorie for it and "killed" her by stabbing her multiple times.
After dealing with Stanley, the freaks wanted justice for Ethel and decided to kill Elsa, too. But Bette and Dot warned her in the nick of time and she managed to escape. Meanwhile, Jimmy goes to the same man Massimo Dolcefino (Danny Huston), who provided Elsa with her wooden legs and he then got a set of lobster-like hands.
As Elsa left town, she sold the freak show to Dandy for $10,000, after which he took possession of the freak show and found Stanley's mutilated body.
Dr. Hans Gruper was revealed as the man who cut off Elsa's legs. He then went to work at Briarcliff and adopted the name Arthur Arde.
