'American Horror Story' season 6 spoilers: Evan Peters, Lady Gaga return in finale?

"American Horror Story" season 6 will air its finale on Wednesday, Nov. 16, putting an end to the horror anthology series' most twisted season yet.

"Roanoke," which has thrown a number of curve balls at fans, combined reality with fiction and had some in its cast portraying two or even three different characters over the course of the season. In the penultimate episode, it revealed "American Horror Story" star Sarah Paulson, who played both Audrey Tindall and Shelby Miller during the season, will be reprising her "Asylum" character Lana Winters.

With just one episode left, fans have been wondering if any of the other "Roanoke" cast members will be "resurrected" or return as a different character.

Movie Pilot suggested that Evan Peters, who played both Edward Philippe Mott and Rory Monahan, could reappear in the season 6 finale. As fans recall, Peters' Mott was killed in the first half of the season. His next character, Rory, was killed on the first night of the Blood Moon and was the first victim among the "Return to Roanoke" participants.

But while Peters had very few scenes this season, it is interesting to note that he is credited as a series regular in "American Horror Story" season 6. Meanwhile, cast members such as Lady Gaga and Adina Porter, who have had more screen time, are credited as special guests.

As such, Movie Pilot theorized that Peters has a bigger role to play in "Roanoke" and that the season 6 finale could either bring back his first character, Mott, or the ghost of his second character, Rory. In "Roanoke," it is said that those murdered during the Blood Moon are forever enslaved by the Butcher and are forced to kill under her bidding. Because Rory was killed during the Blood Moon, his soul is forever under the control of the Butcher. Will Rory's ghost return to shed more blood in the season 6 finale?

Aside from Peters' possible re-emergence, another Movie Pilot theory suggested that Lady Gaga's Scathach could make one final horrifying return. In the previous episode, the witch of the wood turned Lee Harris (Porter) into her minion, making the lone survivor feast on the heart of a pig. This ritual signified that Lee is now forever bound to Scathach.
