The penultimate episode of "American Horror Story" season 6 revealed the lone survivor in the doomed cast of "Return to Roanoke."

It also finally showed "American Horror Story" alum Taissa Farmiga, whose participation in "Roanoke" was previously confirmed by "AHS" co-creator Ryan Murphy. In "Chapter 9," Farmiga's character, a huge fan of the faux documentary "My Roanoke Nightmare," arrived at the house and was later burned at the stake by the Butcher (Kathy Bates).

But while Farmiga's character has already been revealed (and killed), "American Horror Story" fans are still waiting to see that of "AHS" alum Matt Bomer, who is also expected to appear in the FX series' current season.

In June, Bomer confirmed his "American Horror Story" season 6 participation in an interview on Magic Radio, saying: "I don't know anything [about season 6], electively so. It's coming back, and I know that I will be a part of it at some point."

According to MTV, fans are suggesting that Bomer could appear in the season 6 finale as Ambrose, the real-life son of the Butcher. However, the "American Horror Story" IMDb page assigns this role to Parkour athlete Jesse La Flair, who has posted a video of himself as Ambrose on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, after revealing three weeks ago that only one person would make it out of the Roanoke mansion alive, the anthology horror series finally showed viewers who the lucky survivor is in Wednesday's "Chapter 9."

As it turned out, Lee (Adina Porter) was the only one to survive the horrors of the Mott mansion. But Lee didn't do it all on her own; she had help from her new friend, the Forest Witch (Lady Gaga), who turned her into a minion. Under the Witch's influence, Lee murdered Audrey (Sarah Paulson), Monet (Angela Bassett) and the young GoPro-wielding visitors who showed up at the haunted house.

But though Lee made it out of Roanoke Island alive, the confessed murderer was later revealed to be locked up in jail. In another twist, an "American Horror Story" character from a previous season made a surprise appearance.  In the episode, Paulson, whose "Roanoke" character Audrey had just been killed, reprised her "Asylum" role as the investigative journalist Lana Winters.

"American Horror Story" season 6 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
