The theme of the upcoming sixth season of "American Horror Story" is being revealed by teaser trailers released by FX. It appears that the new season of the horror drama anthology series will be another "blast from the past," just like the fourth season, "Freakshow." This time, the new season will revolve around the story of the Lost Colony, possibly tackling its ties with the first season of "AHS."

Tech Times reported the set of trailers being shown by FX to promote "AHS" Season 6 and so far, all that the public has seen in these teasers are the farms and horrific beings. It is likely that Season 6 will take place in a rural farm setting, and the main characters will have to deal with demonic creatures. Interestingly, the half-human, half-demon creature could be a tie-in with "Murder House," the very first season of "American Horror Story." To recall, the "anti-Christ" baby was born towards the end of that season.

Moreover, the online publication has noted the dark human figures with green eyes staring blankly at a distance. These are the same green eyes that Lady Gaga's unnamed character has in her own separate "AHS" promo. The long dress and the suit-and-hat fashion of the people in the promo are being related to a Puritan theme.

Recently, the first promotional photos for "AHS" Season 6 were released via TMZ and confirm Tech Time's thought of a Puritan theme. In fact, the new chapter may deal with the pilgrims of the Roanoke colony, also known as "the Lost Colony." One image shows the word "Croatoan" carved into a tree, establishing the season's connection with the Roanoke colony. The mysterious colony was also mentioned in "Murder House."

Specifically, the photos suggest that Season 6 will tell the story of Roanoke's mysterious disappearance back in the 1500's. The Roanoke Island colony was founded in 1585 by Sir Walter Raleigh, an English expeditor. England is known to colonize the island for many years, then in 1590, the Roanoke governor John White returned from his homeland to witness that the entire colony vanished. The word "Croatoan" in a tree was the only thing seen in the area, which is the name of the first Native American tribe that resided in the colony. What makes the colony's disappearance mysterious is that there were no indications of attack not even the remains of the inhabitants.
