'American Idol' Season 14 Elimination Results: Top 12 Performances - Sarina-Joy Sent Packing

The Top 11 of 'American Idol' Season 14 after the March 11, 2015 episode. | FOX

And then there were 11. As "American Idol" Season 14 revealed its Top 11, it was pretty evident that determining who stays and who goes based on America's votes does not ensure that the "best" singers actually stay.

The bottom three – Sarina-Joi, Quentin and Nick – were left waiting for the remaining coveted spots in the Top 11. All three were charismatic, talented and very consistent singers, and some were of the opinion that they were better than those who easily sailed through. Then it was down to Nick and Sarina-Joi, and the latter was sent home, after her rendition of Demi Lovatos' "Neon Lights" did not excite the judges enough to use their save. Although admittedly, her performance this week was not up to the high standards she set earlier, it seemed too early in the competition for her to go.

Here's a rundown of the Top 11:

Rayvon Own was the first through. He sang "Burn" by Ellie Goulding. Based on the comments from the judges, Rayvon's work with season Mentor Scott Borchetta was paying off.

Maddie Walker was next to advance. She sang "She's Country" by Jason Aldean. Connick called her out for imitating the original recording. It seemed Maddie still had no sense of who she is was an artist, and that made a lot of her performances not that memorable.

Joey Cook was next. She gave a stunning performance of Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," easily one of the most memorable performances of the season and definitely the best for the night. Joey proved she could take a mainstream song and make it her own.

Clark Beckham played the piano and sang "Takin' it to the Streets" by The Doobie Brothers. The performance was a bit lackluster. As Jennifer Lopez said it, the emotion, stage presence and artistry needed to catch up with his vocals.

Jax Cole performed next. She sang Taylor Swift's "Blank Space." It was not her best performance. Again she was called out for being too close to the original and her vocals being swallowed up by the band. Jax tried mainstream, but she should stick to being Jax.

Qaasim Middleton performed "Jet" by Paul McCartney, for the first time playing guitar on the stage. It grounded him a bit, since he had been known for very energetic performances. Keith Urban and Lopez loved it. Connick was not that impressed, saying his over-the-top performances were starting to hurt him. Undoubtedly though, Qaasim was the season's best performer.

Adanna Duru was next. She sang "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars. Urban said she totally justified the judges' choice to save her with a wildcard the previous night.

Tyanna Jones was next, taking on Janelle's Monae's "Tightrope." She was a standout for the night, getting a standing ovation from Lopez and Urban.

Danel Seavey sang "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. Connick said it was the most comfortable he had ever looked on stage.

Quentin Alexander then sang Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," showing everyone just how strong his vocals and artistry really were. Like Duru, he proved the judges made the right decision by making him a wildcard pick.

The final contestant to get into the Top 11, Nick Fradiani sang "Wake Me Up" by Aloe Blacc. It was not a solid performance, but he finished strong.
