Android 5.0 Lollipop Features: Users Experience Fewer App Crashes Than iOS 8 Users
If your device is due to move to the latest Android operating system Lollipop, then you can take heart from a recent report affirming that the Lollipop is much more stable than the iOS 8.
This news will no doubt help brighten the outlook for the new Android operating system which was released in November of last year and is now slowly rolling out to major devices, especially those in the Samsung lineup.
According to Crittercism, a website that rates how apps perform on mobile devices, the iOS8 is faring worse than the previous iOS 7. The sources pointed out at the interesting data that cropped up when comparing the app crashes on the iOS 8 to those which happened on the Android Lollipop. The source said the Lollipop only experiences an app crash rate of 2.0 percent, while iOS 8 app crash rate is a bit higher at 2.2 percent.
This difference in numbers maybe small, but it effect is huge especially when taking into account the fact that the iOS 8 is performing worse than previous versions of the operating system. However, the source noted that the Lollipop has considerably improved over previous iterations of the Android operating system.
When comparing the Lollipop operating system to the previous KitKat and Ice Cream Sandwich operating systems, the older versions had a similar crash rate of 2.6 percent. This means that the Lollipop has addressed many of the bugs that have been plaguing the earlier operating systems and has become much more stable.
For Apple – which is riding high on the stunning sales brought in by its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices – the iOS 8 crash rate has actually increased by 1.9 percent from that of the iOS7. This reportedly showed that the stability of the Android's operating system has been affected in the newer iOS 8, even though users will not be able to notice a major difference.
