Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date News: Glitches in Some Regions But None in U.S.
The Android 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 has slowly but surely been progressing through the United States and some other regions of the world. However, in some places the update for the previous Samsung flagship has reportedly not been progressing that smoothly.
In Norway for instance, when Samsung rolled out the update last week, users experienced major glitches in their devices as soon as they received it. Some users said the update caused their Galaxy S5 devices to freeze while others said the update activated the alarm app of their devices automatically.
The problem with the frozen phone even extended to the Galaxy S4. As result, the phones turned to bricks and shut out their users. This led to the update being put on hold while the problems were investigated.
In the U.S., the Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout has been progressing smoothly since last week. Among the carriers that successfully rolled it out was C Spire, a local carrier in the country. This was quite a surprise as the local company managed to beat bigger carriers in having their Samsung phones updated. C Spire said it took about five days for the update to be completed.
Gottabemobile said C Spire did not show any extensive change log as part of the 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5. In many ways that update was like those reported earlier by Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile, which included the Material Design interface, the tech news source said.
Surprisingly, AT&T still has not announced its plans for the arrival of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on the Galaxy S5. All that the company could say in a tweet was that it is still testing the new 5.0 Lollipop operating system and has been in contact with users who have inquired about the update's release.
In addition to AT&T, users of the Galaxy S5 on MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular and a host of other carriers still haven't received the new operating system.
