The highly anticipated Android Nougat has already been rolled out earlier this week. Nexus devices and Pixel C were amongst the first to get the new update from Google. However, tech observers are wondering why the Nexus 5 is not included in the list of devices to get the latest update.

According to a report by 9TO5Google, the Google Nexus 5, which came out in 2013, will not be updated to Android Nougat. As of the moment, only the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Pixel C are eligible for the update. However, several smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Sony and HTC have already announced the arrival of the software on some of their handsets.

According to the latest reports by Business Insider, there are several features the new Google Android 7.0 Nougat has that the Apple iOS lacks. According to the publication, the new "multi-window" feature of the new software allows users to open two apps simultaneously. The new feature will work on both phone and tablet. Apple has the same multitasking view but it will only work with tablets and not with their popular iPhones.

The new Android Nougat software also allows users to change the display size of the device through the Display Size setting. The feature will let users reduce the entire Android interface. Although Apple has the same display zoom setting on its newest iPhones, the iOS feature will not allow users to reduce all things on the display.

Meanwhile, consumers must take note that the currently released Android 7.0 Nougat is in the early stages of its development. There is a big possibility that the new software might present some bugs and other issues on certain devices. According to reports, other crucial features of the device might not work after installing the new Android software such as Bluetooth and camera.

As of the moment, Google has yet to finalize the release of the complete version of the software. Stay tuned for more news and updates about Android 7.0 Nougat.
