Android 7.0 Nougat update: First set of T-Mobile devices to get new OS announced; LG V20 shows off Nougat in new clip

With the rollout of the Android 7.0 Nougat fast approaching, T-Mobile ramps up its preparation for the new mobile operating system's highly-anticipated arrival.

The magenta carrier has announced the initial batch of devices to get the software and it turns out that Samsung and HTC smartphones will be the first ones getting a taste of the OS.

Newly released Samsung flagships namely the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as well as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are first in line to received Android 7.0 Nougat, which is not a shock at all.

Last year's iterations—Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge Plus—are also getting some Nougat love together with the HTC 10 and the HTC One M9.

T-Mobile did not indicate when exactly these devices will receive Android 7.0 Nougat, but they are currently at the first stage of the software update, which is manufacture development.

During this stage, T-Mobile and the manufacturer agree to push through a software update. These Samsung and HTC phones will then move on to the second stage, which is T-Mobile testing.

"During this stage the device will go through T-Mobile certification process testing to make sure you get the best quality software possible," T-Mobile wrote.

Apart from these, other devices expected to get Android 7.0 Nougat is of course the new Google Nexus smartphones as well as the LG V20, which is set for release Sept. 6. A clip of the LG device shows the new features to expect in the operating system.

With regards to what to expect in the Android 7.0 Nougat, Engadget states that Google worked on polishing the rough edges of the software as opposed to drastic change in design.
