Android 7.0 Nougat update: LG announces update for LG G5 users; Here's how to download and install
G5 smartphone users have been waiting for their own Android 7.0 Nougat update for quite some time now. Thankfully, LG announced that their device will have the anticipated update soon.
The announcement of LG's Android 7.0 Nougat update came to boast that LG G5 will be installed with the OS soon. LG said via a press release that LG G5 owners in South Korea will be the one to receive the update first, followed by other countries.
Those in Asia and other countries should be able to receive the update weeks after South Korea. Most G5 owners will be able to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update via notifications. There should be more details to be announced once the update is rolled out in their respective countries.
"At LG, we know our customers want the best, most up-to-date mobile experience," said senior vice president and head of LG Mobile's research and development, Kim Hyung-jung. "Getting software updates to our users faster than the competition is our way of demonstrating that LG is committed to supporting our products and customers to ensure they have a positive ownership experience."
LG claims that they are the company that first delivered the Android 7.0 Nougat update from a device that is installed with Marshmallow. Those who own LG V20 got to experience Nougat first, even before it was rolled out on Pixel and Pixel XL.
Android 7.0 Nougat update is anticipated due to the many features in contains, including streamline navigation, multi-window support, in-app search function and more. It allows users to conveniently switch apps by just merely double tapping an icon. Furthermore, the new setting menu is improved with better notification display.
Those who want to check if their gadgets are ready for Android 7.0 Nougat update, manual update can be done by accessing the device's Settings and choosing the About Phone option. Then, by choosing System Updates, the Android 7.0 Nougat update can now be installed.
