Annabelle, Doll in 'The Conjuring' Movie a True Story? Release Date Coming 2015
Fans of the horror movie genre will remember "Anabelle" - the scary and creepy doll that appeared in The Conjuring. In recent reports it has emerged that the story surrounding the sinister looking doll was actually based on a true life story. The Warrens - the family from the conjuring - reportedly took possession of this real-life doll that allegedly haunted its previous owners.
Annabelle is now kept at the Ed and Loraine Warren's museum located in Connecticut.
The image of the doll in the movie was much talked about and was too striking not to notice, thus getting its own spin-off from the movie.
The Conjuring was scripted by Gary Dauberman (Swam Evil) and directed by James Wan (Saw and Dead Silence), and was a box office hit when it was released in 2013; it garnered an impressive $318 million revenue worldwide. The film was made with a budget of only $20 million.
The Conjuring revolved around the story of the Warren couple who were American paranormal investigators. They came to assist the Perron family, who were left extremely disturbed by some creepy events in their Rhode Island farmhouse in 1971.
Annabelle has not been officially released yet, but is speculated to arrive in theatres early 2015.
Production staff working on the Annabelle spin off have kept mum about any plot details, but some plot leaks and rumors are expected to churn out in the coming months as the production ramps up.
Meanwhile, The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Protagonist, which stars Alfre Woodard (True Blood), Annabelle Wallis (The Tudors), Ward Horton (The Wolf of Wall Street), and Brian Howe (Justified), is set to come out on October 2.
