'Ant-Man and the Wasp' premiere date, cast news, plot updates: Production date and working title set; Doctor strange to appear in film?

The sequel to Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man" already has a production date set, along with an interesting working title. Meanwhile, could Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) appear in "Ant-Man and the Wasp?"

Details about "Ant-Man and the Wasp" remain scarce, but My Entertainment World has confirmed that the film will start productions on July 6 later this year in Atlanta. The location of the film's shoot being in Atlanta is predictable because it is the home of many Marvel films.

Aside from a production date, the film's working title was also revealed by magazine Production Weekly. The working title of "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is "Cherry Blue," as confirmed by Comicbook. The working title remains a mystery as no details have been released about the film's plot or what the working title stands for.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" will see the return of Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, and Michael Peña as Lang's friend, Luis.

There were speculations suggesting that Michael Douglas will no longer be returning for the sequel, but the actor was confirmed to reprise the role of Hank Pym when he posted a photo of himself beside the "Ant-Man" poster on his Facebook account.

"Getting ready to play Dr. Pym again in Ant-Man 2 shooting in July. Need to start growing the goatee now," Douglas said on his post.

Meanwhile, there have been rumors that Doctor Strange will appear in "Ant-Man and the Wasp" to help bring Hank's wife from the Quantum Realm.

Movie News Guide points out that Doctor Strange has enough knowledge about the different realms, including the Quantum Realm, so the doctor can help Hank in deciphering how he can get his wife back.

But Strange will need Scott's help in finding Janet van Dyne. Scott will be the one to enter back into the Quantum Realm while Strange will be keeping him conscious throughout the mission.

However, there are no confirmations yet if Doctor Strange will be appearing in the title.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is expected to premiere in July 2018.
