A source told IBTimes that the AirPods will be in the market before the year ends. But the insider also noted that it is still possible for it to come out this month, although it would mean that Apple will be selling them directly to consumers and make them available to resellers at a later date in December.

However, the latest news suggests that mass production will start in December, which means that they might not go on sale before Christmas.

As for the price, these wireless earphones will retail for $159, which is $10 more than the competing and upcoming BeatsX Bluetooth earbuds.

Apple has made this new trend possible by removing the 3.5-millimeter audio port and released wireless AirPods which functions by using Apple's W1 chip. Insiders say AirPods can be used in all devices. With just one tap after putting them inside ears, they will connect instantly. The device can sense when they are placed in the ears and when they are being removed. They automatically pause when they are taken out.

To use the earphones, users simply need to tap the AirPod twice to change the song, increase or decrease the volume and do other functions. The Apple W1 chip will control all its actions. With a single charge, one can enjoy five hours of listening time, and over 24 hours of battery life. Charging the device for at least 15 minutes will deliver three hours of battery life, which should be enough for those who are on the move or are traveling.

An accelerometer can detect when the user is speaking and enables the microphones to focus on the sound and filter out noise. Note that the Apple AirPods are designed to work via Bluetooth.
