iPad Mini 5 release date, specs rumors 2016: New tablet to be launched at Apple's Sept. 7 event?

Apple is certainly one of the busiest tech companies this year. With already a few releases in the first half of the year, the Cupertino-based company is expected to launch several devices before the year ends. One of the most awaited releases from them is the iPad Mini 5. While everyone is focusing on the iPhone 7 launching, many fans are also anticipating the release of the tablet. According to the latest reports, the fifth generation iPad Mini will most likely be unveiled along with Apple's new iPhone on Sept. 7.

There are rumors circulating all over the internet suggesting that Apple will also launch its new operating system, the iOS 10. If rumors prove to be true, the new tablet could come out on the market with a preinstalled iOS 10.

Although Apple has yet to provide concrete details with regard to the development and release of iPad Mini 5, several rumors and speculations have already emerged online revealing its specs and features. 

According to Vine Report, the next generation Apple iPad Mini tablet will carry a slimmer design compared to its predecessor. It is also expected to run on Apple's A9 chipset with Oscar M9 motion co-processor. The publication also suggested that the company will no longer release a 16 GB base unit of the device and roll out the 32 GB instead. If rumors prove to be true, the upcoming handheld device will carry a much larger battery compared to the previous model at 5000 mAh.

Meanwhile, according to a report by The BitBag, the price of the iPad Mini 5 will most likely start at $450, which is the 32 GB base unit. The 64 GB variant is expected to come out with a price of $500, while the 128 GB model will be sold at $600.

However, these reports have yet to be confirmed by Apple. Fans expect the company to provide all the details about the upcoming tablet at the Sept. 7 event.
