According to AppleInsider, Apple will be launching new versions of the existing 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro units. Moreover, the tech giant, is expected to reveal a new size variant, which will be a 10.9-inch tablet. To add, the iPad unit will reportedly sport a bezel-less design.

The report suggests that the 10.9-inch model is the start of a brand new series. If the company launches a new iPad line, perhaps they intend to discontinue the iPad Air. It's been awhile since the company launched any updates on this series, and there have been varying reports about the fate of the tablet line. As previously reported, there have been rumors suggesting that Apple could be phasing it out.

Among the three tablets that are rumored to launch in the series, the 9.7-inch iPad will reportedly be more affordable even if it is part of the iPad Pro series. The device will not have premium specs. PhoneArena reported that the tablet will be equipped with entry level features. The news outlet also suggested that the device could cost a little more than the iPad Mini.

Another iPad line that will reportedly be discontinued is the iPad Mini. Since August, rumors about the discontinuation of the line have been circulating. Contrary to this, GSM Arena believes that Apple will launch a new model for the series next year.

Since Apple has yet to confirm the latest claims, tech enthusiasts should treat the reports as speculation until proven otherwise.
