Apple iPhone 7 release date, specs news 2016: Back-to-school promo includes iPhone 6S and 6S Plus; Discount signals an earlier arrival of iPhone 7?
The latest back-to-school promo deals from Apple includes the current iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Several tech observers believe that the current price cut of the company's flagship smartphone is a good indication that a new iteration may arrive anytime soon.
The new iPhone 7 is expected to be launched in September. If rumors prove to be true, the next generation Apple smartphone may have an earlier launch date.
The new back-to-school promo gives students the opportunity to purchase any device from Apple, which is included in the program, at a lower price compared to its SRP. According to a report by Computer World, the iPhone 6S along with the iPad Pro are being sold with huge price cuts because of its declining sales this year. The publication noted that this did not happen last year and all the years prior to 2015.
Apparently, the two flagship devices are no longer the best in their class as far as sales is concerned. Both the iPhone and iPad models have already been left behind by their competitors in the market today. Rumor has it that Apple is working so hard for their upcoming releases to make sure they reclaim the top spot in the competition.
Meanwhile, reports about iPhone 7 have been scarce lately as people are more interested in the upcoming iPhone 8, which is said to be released next year.
Nevertheless, Tech Radar reported that consumers will not see a significant change on the new iPhone smartphone from its predecessor. It will carry the same design with only a few tweaks worth noting. The publications suggest that the new handset will not be carrying a dual camera feature as previously reported. However, the other version of the iPhone 7 may have the dual-lens snapper. Nonetheless, it still remains to be seen.
As of the moment, fans should wait for the Cupertino-based company to officially announce the new iPhone 7.
