Reports of an Apple event in September is getting a lot of attention after it was rumored that the Cupertino-based company will release the next-generation iPhone smartphone along with other exciting devices.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple will launch the highly anticipated iPhone 7 on Sept. 7. However, the company has yet to make an official announcement with regard to the rumored event. There are speculations suggesting that Apple is going to surprise the tech industry with plans of releasing great products including the popular smartphone before the year ends.

The publication also claimed that the preorder of the new handset will start on either Sept. 9 or 10.

If rumors prove to be true, Apple should start providing concrete details before the scheduled event.

The new rumor appears to be contradicting the previous speculation started by popular tech leaker Evan Blass. The tipster claimed on a Twitter post that the new iPhone 7 will come out on Sept. 16. However, Blass suggested that the date is when the device will hit the shelves, which could mean that the Sept. 7 event will launch the upcoming handset.

The iPhone 6 was launched at an Apple event on Sept. 9 last year. After 16 day, the current iPhone smartphone was released in the market.

Meanwhile, reports about the specs and features of the device have been scarce; however, there are some predictions coming from tech observers. There are speculations saying that the device will most likely come with a new headphone jack technology as the company is said to eliminate the traditional 3.5mm connector.

According to previous reports, there is not much of a different in design between the upcoming iPhone and the current iPhone 6. There are speculations saying that Apple will start making major changes once they begin the development of the iPhone 8. The device is expected to come out in 2017.
