Apple Watch Release Date News: Manufacturing Issues Ahead of April 10 Launching

The recent rumors about the Apple Watch have not been good. Some sources alleged that the watch is beset with a number of manufacturing problems that could lead to fewer units available for sale in the market when the device is officially launched on April 10.

Apple is reportedly facing a number of unique problems stemming from the device's hardware. The major problem with the watch, sources said, is centered on its OLED display. According to a publication in Taiwan, the manufacturers tasked with producing the display have been facing several issues when creating large quantities of the device on their production lines.

As the displays rolled out in the factory, it was discovered recently that more than half could not be used, the report from Taiwan said. This led to the company cutting the production from three million units per month to around 1.5 million units, it added.

The Taiwanese report was subsequently called into question. Apple Insider said such manufacturing issues often surface as rumors when a brand-new product from Apple hits the market and hence it is not unusual. Since Apple has managed to bring a number of new products to the market successfully, the company is well prepared to handle such manufacturing problems, the source said.

Apple Insider also pointed out that when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 were released in September last year, Apple was hit with the same supply chain issues which led to fewer units hitting store shelves. At that time, the company struggled to keep up with consumer demand.

When the Apple Watch is released, the same scenario could happen, Apple Insider said. However, with the company's long history of dealing with such problems and overcoming them, Apple has expressed confidence inb overcoming any challenge that gets in the way.

The OLED display on the Apple Watch marks a first for the company. The device will also come with a number of other features such as a digital drown and a heart rate monitor.
