Apple Watch vs LG Watch Urbane LTE Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - 2 Premium Devices
Although the Apple Watch remains largely unknown, more information about the device has been coming out ahead of its official April 10 release date. However, other similar devices such as the LG Watch Urbane LTE are also coming out which can match Apple Watch in terms of features.
Design
When it comes to design, the device from Apple is miles ahead as it comes in three lines: a basic Apple Watch Sport, mid-tier Apple Watch, and the super costly Apple Watch Edition. As for the materials used in the construction of its body, they range from aluminum and stainless steel to solid gold. The body of the Apple Watch is also rectangular and comes in two sizes: 38mm and 42mm. Its straps are made from either leather, or stainless steel, or Fluoroelastomer. Although labelled as water resistant, the Apple Watch can only survive splashes and cannot be dunked in water. As for its compatibility, the watch can only be paired with phones older than the iPhone 5.
As for the LG Watch Urbane LTE, it only comes with a stainless steel body which is round and covered with a silver polish. As for its straps, the default version is made from leather, but it can be swapped out with any standard 22mm strap. It is also water resistant and has a rating of IP67, which means it can safely be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes. The Watch Urbane LTE does not run Android Wear but instead runs the LG Wearable Platform. It doesn't necessarily need to be paired with a smartphone to function as it can make and receive calls individually, thanks to its SIM card.
Display
The Apple Watch comes in two sizes with retina display. Its smaller version has a 38mm screen with a resolution of 340x272 pixels while it bigger version has a 42mm screen with a resolution of 390x312 pixels. As for the Watch Urbane LTE, it has a P-OLED display measuring 1.3 inches with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a density of 245 pixels per inch.
Specs
On the Watch Urbane LTE is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz, 4GB onboard storage and 1GB RAM. As for the Apple Watch, it has the Apple S1 chip which has a whole computer embedded on it and 8 GB onboard storage.
Sensors
The Apple Watch has an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and heart rate monitor, while the Watch Urbane LTE has a nine-axis bio sensor, barometer, proximity sensor and heart rate monitor.
Price
The cheapest version of the Apple Watch will be priced at $349. Its costliest solid gold editions cost between $10,000 and $17,000. As for the LG Watch Urbane LTE, it could be priced between $350 and $400.
