"Arrow" season 5 introduced Detective Malone (Tyler Ritter), the new man in Felicity Smoak's (Emily Bett Rickards) life.

Rumors of Felicity's new love interest began circling earlier this year, following the character's break-up with Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell). In the "Arrow" season 5 premiere, Detective Malone was introduced as a member of the Star City Police Department. While fans have seen Detective Malone express his feelings for Felicity, not much else is currently known about the new character.

"Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Felicity's new beau, saying that fans will soon find out what Oliver thinks of the guy.

"I don't think I'm spoiling anything to say that pretty much every secret on this show eventually [comes out]," he said.

Guggenheim also clarified that Felicity isn't keeping her relationship with Detective Malone a secret. It's just that Oliver is still unaware that Felicity has found a new man.

"Felicity's boyfriend is certainly no exception — not that she's keeping it a secret from Oliver, but at the start of season 5, Oliver doesn't know," the "Arrow" boss said.

He also revealed that Oliver will soon find himself unwittingly working with Detective Malone, which should make for an interesting dynamic. It remains to be seen whether Malone is a good cop or one of the corrupt ones. Either way, he's bound to cross paths with Oliver.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Amell dished about Oliver's reaction to learning about Felicity's relationship with the detective. "I think he'll be fine," the actor said. "He will hug a pillow, much like I'm hugging a pillow right now, but he'll do it in private," he continued.

"He got shot with an arrow in the head?" he teased. "Don't look at me," Amell added.

Meanwhile, Amell recently announced that he has just filmed the upcoming four-way crossover involving "Arrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl," and "Legends of Tomorrow." In a Facebook Live video, the actor said that he spent five weeks filming five different episodes for the crossover.

"Not five different shows, but five different episodes of television being filmed simultaneously," he said.

The crossover is expected to kick off in November. "Arrow" season 5 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
