'Arrow' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Five new friends or enemies for Oliver; Black Canary to feature in premiere?

The upcoming "Arrow" season 5 will be introducing some new characters when it premieres in October. It was also revealed that the Black Canary will be featured in the premiere episode of the series, something that will leave fans hyperventilating with excitement, no doubt, especially after the character's death was met with quite emotional turmoil among the show's characters as well as its audience.

Susan Williams, Detective Malone, Adrian Chase, Tobias Church, Wild Dog, and Evelyn Crawford will be joining "Arrow's" regular characters in the upcoming run, giving it a lift with a lot of fresh faces. Only, it is not known whose side they will be on. Fans best hope they will be on Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell).

Susan has been confirmed to be played by Carly Pope. Susan is a rising new journalist anxious to make her mark in Star City where she intends to make herself a headliner with the story she does on Oliver.

Detective Malone will be portrayed by Tyler Ritter. Malone shall be taking Quentin Lance's place in the Star City police force. The vacancy came about when Quentin resigned from his position upon the death of his daughter Laurel (Katie Cassidy).

On the other hand, Josh Segarra will take on the character of Adrian, who will be Star City's district attorney and ally to Oliver. Chad L. Coleman will act the part of the new antagonist and gangster, Tobias.

Rick Gonzalez is playing Wild Dog in the next installment, and he will be on Oliver's side. Madison McLaughlin will play Evelyn who was seen around the time of the Black Canary's demise. Evelyn will eventually take on the character of her alter ego, Artemis.

Speaking of demise, fans were shocked with the last season's airing of Black Canary's devastating death. However, it may give the audience hope to find out that this year, they will see the Black Canary being featured in the next season. Viewers will come to appreciate what the character symbolizes and what she means to Star City.
